Guidelines & Useful Information

What Is Included? What Should I Bring?

Obviously if you have your own gear - rod, net, flies, etc., - you should bring them. If you don't please let us know when you book your trip so we can provide them for you. In addition we suggest you bring a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellant, camera, rain gear and shoes or sneakers that are easy to get on and off. Layers of comfortable, warm clothing are also recommended. Weather can be very unpredictable, especially on the water, and it is much better to be prepared. You can always remove a layer if you are too warm. We do provide snacks and drinks for 1/2 day trips and light meals for full day and overnight trips. Please let us know in advance if anyone in your party has food allergies so we can plan accordingly. If you bring refreshments please remember there is no littering, so you'll need to be responsible for taking any packaging and trash home with you. Also, alcohol is not permitted. You will be required to sign a Waiver & Release agreement. Please return one signed waiver for each member of your party before your sceduled trip date, or bring a hard copy with you when you arrive. Please note that those under 18 must have a parent or adult legal guradian fill out the form and sign it for them.

What If The Weather Is Bad?

In general fish don't mind cloudy days or rainy weather, so be prepared for both - the fish will still be biting even if you're wet! The only time a trip will be cancelled is if the weather is so severe that being on the water presents a safety hazard, in which case you'll be notified as far in advance as possible and be given the opportunity to reschedule.

Do I Need A Fishing License?

YES! It is your responsibility to have a valid Arkansas, Idaho or Wyoming Fishing license (depending on where you are booking your trip) BEFORE you arrive for your guided trip. Please follow the appropriate link to purchase a license: Arkansas www.agfc.com/en/resources/licensing/fishinglicenses/ Idaho https://idfg.idaho.gov/licenses Wyoming https://wgfd.wyo.gov/apply-or-buy

Are Your Trips Age Restricted?

We are a family-oriented business and enjoy guiding for parents and their children, and adults who are with minors. We will guide for those under the age of 16 unaccompanied by an adult providing a Waiver & Release Agreement is signed by a parent or adult guardian. We reserve the right to decline service to any minor who we feel may not be capable of taking a trip unsupervised. A Waiver & Release Agreement needs to be signed by everyone. Those under the age of 18 will need to have them filled out and signed by a parent or an adult legal guardian. Everyone should use their best judgement as to whether or they have the mobility and balance to fully enjoy yourself on the water. Adults should use their best judgement as to whether or not your child or unsupervised minor is capable of taking the trip unaccompanied. If you do have any special requirements please make us aware of them when you book your trip.

Do You Guarantee I Will Catch Fish?

Short answer: No. Longer answer: We know where to fish, we have the professional-grade equipment and flies needed to maximize your chances and we pay close attention to your skill level and technique and will coach you accordingly. But there are no guarantees. Fly fishing is very technical. Sometimes it takes multiple trips to make your first catch. It is all dependent on how quickly you pick up the skills, when you take your trip and the flies you use. We pay close attention to what's currently biting, the "hot-spots" for the river and the flies that are working in any given season.

Should I Tip My Guide?

Tipping is not required but is greatly appreciated. 20% of the trip cost is customary. Your overall success and satisfaction should also be factored into the final amount.

Do I Need To Be An Expert At Fly Fishing?

Not at all. We have our share of seasoned fly fishing enthusiasts who have been at it for years as well as novices and first-timers. Regardless of your experience or skill level we're here to help, coach, guide, support and ensure the best success we can - as well as learn from each other. We're all about having fun, building friendships and making memories.
